Setup a backup drive for mac

On a PC: Start > Run > type: \\readyshare.On a Mac: Go > Connect to Server >type : smb: //readyshare.To access the connected USB hard drive from your Mac or PC: Step 4: Unplug the USB hard drive from your Mac and connect it to the router. Use a blank partition to prevent some issues during backup using Time Machine. Note-2: We suggest using a new USB HDD or formatting your old USB disk to do the Time Machine backup for the first time. To see how to change the partition scheme, please see ' Changing the Partition Scheme' at the bottom part of this page. Note-1: The NETGEAR router only supports GUID and MBR partitions. Step 3: Open the Disk Utility and format your drive, as shown here. Step 2: On your Mac, go to Spotlight (or the magnifying glass) located at the top right of the screen and search for Disk Utility. Step 1: Physically connect the USB hard drive to your Mac. Note1: If you are already using Time Machine software with your USB hard drive, you can skip Steps 1 through 3, and go to Step 4.
